Komatsu Ltd. (hereafter “Komatsu”) (President and CEO: Takuya Imayoshi) today issued the integrated report, Komatsu Report 2026.
This report reviews the first year of the Strategic Growth Plan (SGP), “Driving value with ambition” (FY2025-FY2027), and introduces initiatives aimed at enhancing corporate value over the medium to long term, including automation and remote operation, AI utilization, human capital, and natural capital etc. The main highlights are as follows:
1. CEO message
The CEO discusses efforts to strengthen our resilience amid significant changes in the external environment, Komatsu’s competitive advantages in the AI era, and progress on the three pillars of the growth strategy under the SGP.
2. CFO message
Hiroshi Hosotani, who assumed the role of CFO in April 2026, explains the financial strategies supporting Komatsu’s resilience. The section also presents an assessment of the social impact created by the forestry machinery business.
3. Special features (Automation and remote operation, AI)
For automation and remote operation, a priority theme of the SGP, we introduce initiatives in construction and mining equipment, together with feedback from customers using our products and solutions. For AI, a critical foundation for company-wide transformation, we present practical use cases in quality assurance, distributors, industrial machinery, and other areas.
4. Sustainability
The human capital section covers initiatives to create environments where diverse talent can thrive globally, develop talent, and enhance engagement. The report also includes Komatsu’s first disclosure of nature-related dependencies and impacts associated with its business activities, referencing the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework.
5. Message from the Chairman of the Board of Directors
The report includes a message from Hiroyuki Ogawa, Chairman of the Board. He describes Komatsu’s governance rooted in gemba-oriented management and manufacturing excellence, as well as the Board of Directors’ role in supporting efforts to enhance corporate value and drive the next stage of growth.
