Komatsu Ltd. (hereafter “Komatsu”) (President and CEO: Takuya Imayoshi) entered into a renewed CSR collaboration agreement on March 3 with Cummins Inc.(Chair and CEO: Jennifer Rumsey), a global leader in power technology. The agreement renews the CSR collaboration originally established in 2016. Through this renewal, Komatsu and Cummins will further develop joint community initiatives and continue activities that support technical education in local communities.
Based on our long-standing partnership in construction machinery and engine technology, Komatsu and Cummins have been collaborating since 2016 on Cummins’ Technical Education for Communities (TEC) program, which was established by Cummins in 2012. The TEC program aims to provide young people with in‑demand technical and vocational skills by providing vocational education curricula at schools and companies, strengthening teacher training, and offering work-based learning experiences. Launched in 2012, Cummins TEC operates in 30 locations across 14 countries, with more than 1,200 graduates from the collaboration between Komatsu and Cummins.
With the renewal of this agreement, Komatsu and Cummins reaffirm their shared commitment to continuing community activities over the long-term and will work to strengthen partnerships with educational institutions and other organizations. In addition, Komatsu will explore new social contribution activities in which its employees can participate, as well as initiatives for human resource development in alignment with the company’s business activities.
