Komatsu Ltd. (hereafter “Komatsu”) (President and CEO: Takuya Imayoshi) issued the integrated report, Komatsu Report 2025 today.
This report introduces our management policies and corporate activities aimed at sustainable enhancement of corporate value over the medium-to-long term, with a focus on the new three-year medium term management plan renamed as Strategic Growth Plan with the tile of “Driving value with ambition” (hereafter “SGP“). The following are the main points in the report:
1. CEO message
Takuya Imayoshi, who assumed the position of President and Representative Director CEO in April of this year, delivers a message regarding Komatsu’s growth strategy in the SGP and management philosophy aimed at enhancing corporate value.
2. CFO message
This section provides a comprehensive review of past management practices, identifies financial challenges, as well as outlining the financial strategies for enhancing corporate value in the SGP. Additionally, this year marks our first disclosure on the quantification of non-financial impact.
3. Special features (Customer jobsites and production innovation)
We will introduce an actual case study from our customer that illustrates our efforts to create new customer value. In addition, we present our DX transformation initiatives aimed at making our production systems more efficient and resilient against environmental changes, which serve as the foundation for creating customer value.
4. Sustainability
We disclose scenario analysis on electrification and our internal carbon pricing for the first time as a part of our climate-related disclosures based on the TCFD framework. We also provide a detailed overview of our human resources strategy which is aligned with the SGP.
5. Roundtable discussion with Outside Board Members
This section features a roundtable discussion among three Outside Board Members: Mr. Kunibe, Mr. Mitchell, both Outside Directors, and Ms. Matsumura, an Outside Audit & Supervisory Board Member. In the discussion, they shared candid views from an independent perspective on expectations for the new President, the deliberation process during the formulation of the SGP, on the effectiveness of the Board of Directors, governance evaluation, and challenges for enhancing corporate value.
