We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the victims of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024, as well as to all concerned in a difficult situation.

We would like to inform you of the latest situation of the Komatsu Group as follows.

1. Status of employees

We have confirmed that all employees working in the Hokuriku area are safe and sound. There are reports of damage to their homes and properties, and we will provide necessary support as needed.
(No change from our announcement made on January 5)

2. Impact on production:
Komatsu Group's production bases (Awazu Plant, Kanazawa Plant, Himi Plant, and Komatsu NTC Ltd.) have not sustained any major damage, and the current status is as follows:

(1) Although some facilities and processes are still undergoing inspections and repairs, Komatsu NTC Ltd. started production on January 5 (Friday), Awazu Plant, Kanazawa Plant and Himi Plant resumed production on January 8 (Monday), after thorough safety and quality inspection.
(2) We have confirmed that several of our suppliers have been affected by the disaster, and we will continue to support their recovery by dispatching security and maintenance personnel, and other means. Production is not expected to be significantly disrupted by utilizing inventory and procurement from temporary alternative sources.

The impact on Komatsu’s consolidated business results is estimated to be minimal.
