The Effects on the Komatsu Group in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024

First of all, we would like to express our deepest condolences to those who suffering from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024. We also extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the disaster. We understand that there is great concern about the status of Komatsu's factories and group companies located in Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures.

Since the occurrence of the earthquake, Komatsu has prioritized the safety of its employees while conducting safety confirmations of the employees and gathering information on the condition of factory buildings and our suppliers.
The current situation, as confirmed, is as follows:



1. Status of employees:

We have confirmed the safety of all employees working at the various facilities in the disaster-affected Hokuriku region. However, there have been reports of damages to their homes and properties. We will continue to verify the situation and provide necessary support promptly.

2. Impact on production:
At Komatsu Group's production bases (Awazu Plant, Kanazawa Plant, Himi Plant and Komatsu NTC Ltd.), no significant damage has been confirmed or reported so far. We plan to conduct thorough safety inspections in preparation for operations on January 8th (Komatsu NTC Ltd. resumed operations on January 5th). Also, we are continuing to assess the situation regarding the damage to our suppliers and the potential impact on future operations.


Komatsu will consider necessary support for the affected regions, employees and their families, and our suppliers, and will respond in a timely manner. We sincerely pray for the swift recovery of the affected areas.
